It is so easy to sign up for a web hosting plan (shared hosting)
So here’s how we signed up with Webhostingpad:
First we went to their site and then to their signup page (“order now”).
Then there’s a page asking for the domain name, i.e. the name of your website, in case of google this would be “google.com”. Better go for other names
and the tool will then check if your desired name is still free – otherwise it will suggest similar domain names to you. On the same page, you can also decide between two different hosting plans – the “Power Plan” will do.
Now you get to the registration page. Fill in your personal data, payment information, domain information and the duration of your choice. At Webhostingpad, you may pay using Credit Card or PayPal. But what is “Domain Information”? Well, if somebody uses a so called whois service and types in your domain, they will be able to see your personal information (your name, adress, email and phone) unless you select “Domain privacy”. Privacy protected domains will not disclose this information. Some need this, some don’t. But which Duration is best? All web hosting companies offer price reductions for long term plans. The more months you subscribe, the cheaper your plan will be. A medium duration will be fine.
Once you have done that, you will be redirected to PayPal, if you selected PayPal as the payment option for your new web hosting plan. If you already own a PayPal account this step will be clear, otherwise it will be self-describing and absolutely easy to pay for the service.
That’s pretty much it – an “Order Comleted!” message will tell you that everything worked fine and you’ll receive an e-mail with the login details to your cpanel hosting admin panel. Any steps that follow will be just as easy as the signup process – you will get started with your own, self-hosted website in minutes!
