Hostgator performs poorly this year. They were great, but starting with 2010 they seem to be interested more in my money than keeping my website up. Thumbs down!

I previously hosted my website with another company and started to become quite unhappy with the customer service and reliability they offered. We design and build websites, so I decided it was time to rethink who we were hosted with as well as who we recommended to our clients. So I began a search to find the best possible hosting company. I contacted various top hosting companies and tested their knowledge with questions I wanted answered. HostGator was a cut above the rest from what I could tell in that first interaction. We immediately began referring all of our customers to HostGator and also switched both of our company websites to HostGator as well. I could not be happier. We have had only minor issues in the course of working with HostGator and every time I have been easily able to talk to them through their online chat feature to get the problem resolved quickly. They always seem to know what they are talking about and have been friendly as well as efficient in all my contacts with them. Even when there was an issue that was not due to an error on their part, they went above and beyond to help me resolve it. The thing that impressed me most about HostGator is the fact that their customer support actually knows what they are talking about. I have come across far too many hosting companies over the years that did not know websites or hosting procedures as well as I did. With HostGator I really feel like I am talking to a professional that wants to help me with my website/hosting.

The uptime has been amazing for me as well as my clients. I honestly can not remember a time where any of our websites were down and that is saying a lot.

The other aspect is that it is affordable. There are other hosting companies out there that might be cheaper, but you will definitely get what you pay for. HostGator's price is very reasonable and I would pay it any day for the service I receive.

I most certainly would recommend HostGator to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable hosting company.

I am with HostGator since late November 2009. I was a novice to the web hosting industry and I was suitably apprehensive about it. I had bought four domains but had no hosting (I only had free blogs on WordPress.com). I did a lot of learning and research on the internet to know about the web hosting industry and the plan/company to suit my small budget. I used to chat and/or write to the support mails of the various web hosting companies and analyse/compare them. I also wrote to HostGator and the replies from them were quick and comprehensive. I read on their site that one can write to the CEO Brent Oxley by marking the mail ‘for Brent Oxley’! I wrote a mail to Brent Oxley, CEO of HostGator seeking discounts given my low budget and he offered me a “company secret” which would give me huge discounts. Encourages by his replies and the huge discount offer, I signed up for the three years (the baby plan) with HostGatgor and I am very happy with the service and the company and delighted to put it on record in the review here.

HostGator support is the most admirable part of their hosting service. I often chat with the staff (also for learning). The HostGator support staff never fails to help. The reply to support tickets is also quick (30 minutes to 4 hours usually). The HostGator support documentation (including the videos) is very useful and anybody (with cpanel hosting) can use them for learning and troubleshooting. I am also very happy with the uptime (it is more than 99.9 per cent). My shared hosting plan with HostGator is just perfect for my hosting needs. I have many online friends with HostGator and not one of them is unhappy with their service.

I am also a follower of the HostGator blog. On the company blog you will find many honest posts by the CEO about the company’s genesis and other aspects. HostGator keeps donating huge sums for social causes and that is something that definitely makes you proud. The HostGator forums, twitter account and Facebook page is also full of interaction and useful posts.

HostGator is a company that cares for customers and good service more than the profit. I trust them for my hosting and recommend the company for your hosting needs: shared reseller or dedicated. TRUST HOSTGATOR AND IT WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN! HostGator presently hosts 2,500,000 domains including my primary domain vikas-gupta.in. HostGator is a big company but not at all arrogant. They really care and love doing what they do.

I have been with a couple of hosts, including Dramhost, Hosting24, HostMyWarez and Hostgator. And so far I have to say that Hostgator is by far the best. As far as their slogan goes "We eat up the competition" it may sound cheezy, but it's so true. They are superior in almost every way comparable.

Your first impression of Hostgator when you visit their site may be a little mu. There are so much information to absorb, but if you sit down and absorb that information, it's worth it. Hostgator have plans that suits everybody, whether it be the family photoalbum or a highly active community site.

The uptime of their servers are amazing, with the other hosts it wasn't unusual that my site was down every now and then. As long as I've been with Hostgator, close to 6 months now, I've never experienced un-scheduled down-time. They also schedule down-time for server upgrades and similar and tell you in good time, so they are reliable.

As for the usability I have to give them five stars. When you order a package you get an email with detailed instructions of what to do, your new Nameservers and the client login system. After you've logged in and checked your invoices you get another email with instructions on how to access your cPanel. Hostgator run the fairly standard install of cPanel which is almost a standard in webhosting today. With the cPanel you also get Fantastico DeLuxe which allows you to install WordPress, Joomla and Drupal in a few clicks.

As for the support it's another matter, they are good, but not great. They actually answer the phone and emails, and they do it fairly quick, nothing to say on that one. Their staff are also the first support people that I've spoken to who cares about the customer, with other hosts they have seemed to loom down on the user feeling that they, the staff are superior, but not with Hostgator. However, when it comes to live chat they can be really slow, and I mean really slow, I've been there for more than 15 minutes without an answer. However, their support is still better than many other.

In conclusion I would say that Hostgator is one of the best, if not the best, host out there today. There is a reason it has become a so big and famous company.

I have been with Hostgator for almost a year now, and of the three others I have used previously, Hostgator is easily the best. Hostgator has very good pricing options (especially with coupons you can find online), and their quality of customer support is simply world class. On top of their extensive set of FAQs available, they offer great live support via both phone and the web. Hostgator is very reliable in terms of runtime; indeed I have yet to have a problem with my site being down. Overall, Hostgator is an excellent web host at an unbeatable price!

Hostgator is a great hosting company, they have been around for a while now. HostGator provides friendly and excellent web hosting packages. They web host, host domains, and even have a affiliate program. I've been with them for couple of months now and I seem to love it so far. The downtimes however are more frequent than other hosting companies but not much of a difference. Their support however is LIVE quick and helpful. The support staff are nice and will spend as much time as you need to fix your problem. Usability is great, right after purchasing the hosting package they setup my account within twenty minutes, and gave me access to cPanel, in which had many features. The cPanel is user friendly and has many features related to forwarding mail, domain management and easy site builders. However the pricing isn't as cheap as many other services out there, HostGator has many coupons out on the web. I used the first free month one when I purchased the package. I pay around 8 dollars a month, which is quite a fair price. Overall HostGator is a good choice, providing good up-time, great support, and usability is excellent also. The only downside is the price.

Hostgator is fairly well known and reputated webhost. Almost everybody has heard of Hostgator, and there's a reason for that. When you visit Hostgator you see a pretty usual generic and simple website. That is the beauty of Hostgator, it's simplicity. You get exactly what you pay for in a simple manner which even people who never used a webhost before could figure out.

When you order from them you get the standard updated cPanel which almost every webhost uses, with the cPanel you also get Fantastico. You also get support. Hostgator's support is amazing, it's the first webhost support I've worked with which actualy did pick up the phone, answer the emails fast or didn't ignore you on live chat. They are also the first support I've taled to which didn't treat me like I was worth less than them. They treat you as an equal human being. You may notice that I gave them onl four out of five stars on the Customer Support rating, that is mainly because it can take up to 15 minutes to get response on live chat although when you get a response it was worth the wait.

The price of the hosting is unbelievable, you get so much value for your money. If you take into consideration that you get amazing support, close to no downtime and excellent usability you may have found the perfect host.

Hostgator is a really simple web hosting to use. They also have a few of the best customer support in the business. When you buy a web address through Hostgator, you're actually using Registry Rocket services to acquire the web address.

From there, Hostgator registers the web address name to your hosting account. This can be seen as a slight disadvantage. If you would like to make web address changes on your account, you've to know how to adjust web address name servers yourself, and do it through with Registry Rocket.

However, if you don't want to annoy with making changes like this, just send Hostgator an email and they'll do it for you, no charge. Hostgator has good uptime, and they don’t bug you with marketing offers.

Hostgator rates for hosting and web address purchasing are mid range in cost for a web hosting. But, they do accept promo codes, which can save you a couple dollars here and there.

However, if you don’t want to annoy with making changes like this, just send Hostgator an email and they’ll do it for you, no charge. Hostgator has good uptime, and they don’t bug you with marketing offers.

Hostgator rates for hosting and web address purchasing are mid range in cost for a web hosting. But, they do accept promo codes, which can save you a couple dollars here and there.

Hostgator is clearly the first word that comes to my mind when thinking of a reliable host for my websites. Undoubtedly, Hostgator is one of the most reliable and preferred host all across the globe. After experimenting with free hosts that are usually worthless, I decided to stitch to Hostgator and it was really one of the best decisions I have taken.

The support is great, the prices are a bit high. But again, with loads of vouchers available, you can always try out Hostgator for trial purpose like I did. And believe me, you wont like Hostgator, you will start loving it. Rare to find a problem in this hosting. Great support, lovely templates to get started and many more features, if you are thinking about changing your hosting and want a reliable one, there is no other place like Hostgator !!

I have been hosting most of my sites in Hostgator by far, this is the best. The 24/7 support does really help and the operators are very friendly. Not to mention the chat feature, it's very handy and you can immediately find answer to your queries. Another good feature is the payment method through Paypal which is very easy to select. A couple of clicks on your mouse and it's done.

Unlimited bandwidth, unlimited space and 99.99% uptime are just few of the features a client can enjoy when using Hostgator services.

Lastly, Hostgator has the best value and best service. Never had a problem that their instant chat support didn't help resolve. Really like this company and the value they provide with unlimited everything plans for less than the cost of a value meal.
